CAD Services : File Retention Policy

CAD Services File Retention Policy

Please be aware, that under local Engineering Licensing code, I am obligated to keep a copy of files, only for legal cases or legal inspections. Your files are you own, your Intellectual property is your own, (as you can see from the lack of production detailed drawings on this site) and you do get a copy of all related files at the end of a project in your version of SolidWorks and or required format.

“Please note that under P.Eng (PEO) License Regulations I am required to retain enough information on the work to enable a response to a future question, i.e. peer review if ordered, or any challenge as to how a design decision was made. Where this requirement conflicts with provisions of the NDA, we would each have to seek an understanding as to what we retain or how it is protected.  CADGuru’s usual retention period is 7 years.”

Please refer to PEO documentation, section 10.8 Retaining Documents

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. feel free to send me an e-mail directly at dez@cadguru.ca or feel free to converse with my on Skype, WhatsApp or over the phone.
