Technologies: PDF to SolidWorks Model Conversion, SolidWorks Sheet Metal Assemblies, Model updates as per pictures and client discussions, SolidWorks 2D drawings, BOM, DXF of Sheet Metal part output.
Existing documentation was unclear and incomplete. DWG files were imported into SolidWorks. The design was then updated given a new set of internal dimensions, updated light post, and request to update the air hole patterns.
Drafting + Detailing:
The final design was summarized in a 2D drawing with Bill of Materials (BOM) for Quoting, Purchasing, and Production purposes. Drawing included over-all assembly dimensions, including open and closed lid heights, and interior sizes confirmed for battery ordering. Various assembly level ISO and up-close detail views with balloons were included for ease of understanding, and for welding purposes. Individual part views, including ISO, folded and flat patterns were detailed. Part annotations included part number, description and quantity. DXF ‘templates’ output of the Sheet Metal parts was also provided as per client request.
